Not A Good Year...
Time: 7.01pm
I'm still in the office and it suddenly occured to me that I haven't actually blogged for almost 1 month! Gosh... my memory's definitely failing me. How can I even forget to blog? But then again, it's not like a lot have since happened around me.
I spent V-day alone, which is not unusual..if I did managed to find someone, I'll probably mass sms the whole world. Haha.. In fact, out of desperation, I bought a T-shirt (which I'm wearing now) that says " Love me if you're a millionaire" ... I read an article in the papers the other day, where someone was commenting on V-day and how he hated it. Then he mentioned that once after he had sex with his gf, she shouted "Happy VD!" ...which freaked the shit outta him...and in any case you're wondering why... VD also means venereal disease...
My good friend, Jen, has since started work in my company..and she sits behind me.. Kudos to her... and in any case u're wondering why I finally got a picture posted, it's because I got a new Mac in the company, and there's a webcam attached to it...damn shiok. Oh, anyway, about Jen, she's getting ROM in March... and a few close friends chipped in some money for her dress (we were only able to pay half)...in which she looks wonderful. Feel so happy for her. And for the shop owner (cos the dress cost a bomb)
I watched Brokeback Mountain just the other day. I felt that it was a little over-rated. I mean, so many oscars and golden globes nominations, must be darn good... but I found myself fidgeting within 1 hour of the show...
Memoirs of Geisha wasn't fantastic either... definitely didn't do the book any justice. I guess I'm just not "artistic" enough to appreciate these kinda movies. Maybe Jiayin was right..I should stick to lame comedies... like Pink Panther.
I seem to be losing things so easily these days. I guess it's because it's the year of the dog, and I've offended "Tai Sui" ... I really ought to go to the temple and pray that no harm will befall me again..
Gee, I am ranting on and on and on.. aniway, enjoy looking at my wonderful picture, there'll be more loaded soon!

Dark Days
Time: 4.11pm
It's super sunny and scorching hot outside.... but I feel like it seems so dark here. Yes, I'm in the office on a Sunday. I was on MC on friday but instead of resting at home, I went to watch "I not Stupid Too"... No, I'm not faking the illness, I'm genuinely ill. But I needed the fresh air. So work from Friday was piled over and I have to come back on Sunday to clear it.. though majority of my work had been cleared.
Have you ever had that thought in your mind after working for a while that you want a change in environment? All along I thought my boss thought highly of me, in one way or another...but just recently, it dawned upon me that she just thinks "highly" of me cos I work like a dog, just like the rest of the designers. We worked till wee hours in the morning but at least they get a certain amount of recognition in their works... my designs have always been criticised so many times over and that sux. Esp. since she's the oni one who seems not to like it and no matter how hard I defended myself, she'll just no see eye-to-eye with my designs. Sure, design is subjective, but if you can't change your mindset, how do you want to improve? As a designer, you want to be recognised for your creativity and designs, not so much for your long hours and sleepless nights. If you want someone to work just till like 4am everyday, you shouldn't hire a designer, just get someone who executes what you want...someone whom you can lead along on a leash. I love my work... I really enjoy the company of my colleagues, esp. the designers, but I think of what lays ahead of me in the next 2-3 yrs, I start to hesitate.

Oh, you know, I was watching some Taiwanese variety show the other day, they say to improve your relationships/ love life, put a white vase with a sweet-smelling flower on your dressing table and results will show within 3 months. I am just going to do that and pray for a rich and suave prince to sweep me off my big fat feet someday.
Ok, now I've got to go back to work. Sigh...

Bon Voyage
Time: 10.00am
I wasted $14 on cab today cos I overslept. Such a waste of marnee.
I spoke to a friend in Friendster and she's in Australia, having her attachment. Another dear poly friend of mine is leaving sometime next week... and although we don't meet up very often, somehow I think I'm gonna miss him. Sen, one of my bestest pal in poly (who went thru thick and thin wif me by flunking our modules together) might be staying in Adelaide for good and another friend of mine who have been spying on my blog (bean) ...haha, kidding, is also leaving for Australia. Everyone seems to be leaving this small cosy island. I wonder what would've happened if I choose to go study overseas too...but then again, that's like 90% chance of not going to happen, as my parents prob. can't afford that... and I am still stuck in a study loan.
Aniway, no point being melodramatic here. I have 2 things on my mind this year, and I guess you can call it new year resolutions. I am going to learn how to cycle for good! I feel so handicapped by not being able to cycle. I have met with several incidents when it'll be perfect if I could cycle, but I can't! And I'm so darn pissed with myself for that. And after learning how to cycle, I'm going to go for bike lessons. I've got mixed comments about that. Some people tell me to go for it but many felt that it's too dangerous as there's a lot of young reckless drivers on the streets these days. But I figured I'm not going to afford a car anytime soon, esp. after seeing my brother getting his license at 21, and now he's 27, he had to postpone plans for a car because of his new home. So i figured a scooter's the most affordable thing for me now. Whaddya guys think?
Second resolution: I am going for my degree in mass comm. I've been thinking about it since god-knows-when. The ironic thing was that I actually did apply for the couse (diploma) in NP after my Os, but I was darn late for the interview and I screwed it up...and ended up in Biotech. (No regrets there though) Now I've been thinking of applying for APMI after recommendations from a friend/colleague. I wondered if my company's gonna sponsor me but I really doubt it. Besides, people have been telling me to go to SIM...but do you have any idea how much the difference in cost fees is!!! A whopping 6-7000!!! That's enough to feed me for 9 months (or more!) And aniway, how do I know whether the cert's really recognised? Sheesh, when u're 24, there's so many independent decisions you have to make in life.

A Year Wiser
Time: 3.37pm
Happy Lunar New Year Folks! It's been 12 yrs since I last "celebrated" the year of the dog which I was born in, so now I am officially 24 going on 21. The Chinese astrology states that it won't be a smooth sailing year for those born in the year of the dog (in my case, the bitch- no pun intended) but for those in the creative line - it'll be quite a fruitful year ahead...I hope it's accurate.
Last friday, something quite shocking happened in the company... and I can't help but feel spiteful against my boss for that. It makes me think twice about loyalty towards the company and if it can happen to one, it can happen to me some day too. It's just not really fair in life, I guess.

I missed lunar new years at my grandma's place when I was way younger. There's always like fireworks and crackers (and my cousins always spent like 100 over ringgit on all kinds of fancy crackers)... there's like a huge family gathering, complete with BBQ and laughter. Since grandma passed away almost 10 yrs ago, the house was sold and the family seems to have moved on with their own lives. If no one suggested a gathering, no one else will mention anything otherwise. Few of my cousins have since gotten married and have their own families too, and I guess we're no longer the young and naive kids who will just chase each other around barefoot or "gameble" with 10 cents in a corner. I miss those days.
This year's new yr seems relatively quieter. Surprisingly, the ang-paos got bigger (in comparison with what i got last yr from some people who gave $1 ringgit)... I've always looked forward to the gathering with my close sec sch pals. It's the same this year and we always face the same problem every year. The gals want to go club, the guys want to sit and talk (play guitar, fish and gamble..)When we finally managed to persuade them to go out of the house to some chill-out bar, we ended up sitting in a large couch, starring at the TV at the bar (which was showing some pool competition) I almost went crazy, I tell ya... We finally proceeded to DXO (which by this time, the guys left after they reached there) and went dancing with a bunch of probably JC students... They had some bash there I think, not that I know of in the first place, but hey, I can pass off as 18! We had some unpleasant incidents at the beginning, but ended up playing corny games and having a wonderful supper. I love being where/who I am now.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
We ( my bitchy friends and I) were reading the blog of someone we knew and mind you, some people really can so confabulate about their lives... but then again, if she's not like that, we'll have nothing to talk about...haha..Meanie Me)
Oh, Ford Minor's coming to town...so now I'm torn between Frank Ferdinandz and Oasis since i am DEFINITELY going for Fort Minor... how now brown cow?
