Time Traveller

Time: 9.54am
Location: Office with a cup of promegranate cranberry juice and ham & cheese sandwich.

I was at Jay Chou's movie, Secret, gala premiere last evening. The company was involved with some sponsorship and we had free tickets.

The event was scheduled to start at 7pm, but he was late (what's new right? This punctuality problem all celebs have) so I didn't get to see him arriving on the red carpet. The movie was supposed to start at 8 but everything had to be pushed back so eventually, he arrived at close to 8.45pm and the movie started around 9 or so....

Ok, anyway, this entry is not about Jay, it's about the movie, Secret. For those intend to watch it, I will not be the spoiler and tell you the ending...but I must say I kind of like it...and I think he's rather clever to come up with such a plot.

I've always liked this fantasy thingy...things that simply cannot be explained by Science. It's like people think its crazy if things like time travelling or entering into another dimension happens, but if one has never experience it before, who are they to claim that it can never happen? Then they just label people who've experienced it as madcaps or psychos.

I've always believed that there is this place or space in time when someone else like you is living... perhaps a future you or something. Yes, laugh all you want and call me juvenile... but then again, like I said earlier, how are you to know it's not possible if you haven't experienced it?

In fact, there could be someone just like you in other place and time, and who's thinking whether you exist too. No, no...my mind is not warped or what, and no, I am not under massive stress.

Just thinking about how amazing that would be, and how I'd like to meet this person.

Confused or Pre-determined?

Time: 10.45am
Location: Office

I really shouldn't be blogging now, considering that the amount of work has been piled up since 2 weeks ago. It's not that I don't want to finish them, its just new things kept coming in, and they are more important, so the older ones never quite get finished. Frustrating isn't it?

Yesterday must've been one of the most 'bochap' days of my life. I had an assignment due 12 midnight, and I was still at the theatres at 11pm, when my assignment was still short of 200 words. I went home to complete it and submitted it straight to my lecturer after asking an ex-colleague to help me submit online via the school's webiste, as I can't log on to it. I think I am getting complacent, and I really should punch myself for that. GAL! WAKE UP! YOU JUST PAID OVER $16K FOR THAT DARN PAPER! GET YOUR BUTT UP AND DO SOME WORK!

Anyway, I was at the threatres watching a play...no, not Harry Potter if you're thinking...first Harry Potter's not a play, secondly, I've never even seen a single instalment of it.

I was there watching a Wild Rice production, Asian Boys Vol. 3 -Happy Endings. It's been a while since I last watched any plays... If I remembered vaguely, the last play I watched was when I was still at that dreaded doctor's publication place, and it was free tickets to watch..hmm..can't remember, I think it was the Physicist or was it Sing Song?

But anyway, Asian Boys (let's just call it AB3) is the 3rd play about homosexuality I've watched. The first 2 were ok, but not really impressive. It's Mardi Gras and Top or Bottom, which I watched at Raffles Hotel. Sometimes, I think a play isn't just about having witty lines and animated facial expressions. It's about the connection the actors have with the audience. And I think AB3 did just that. (Applaud)

The story is based on a book 'Perculiar Chris', and it depicts the life of a young gay man and his relationships. I thought it was very well acted and the lines were darn funny. There were few intimate scenes, which is good for those who are a little homophobic. In fact, the simple pecks and holding of hands seem enough to signify the relatinships between 2 men. Like how one of the lines said, "There were no lust... just serenity."

I'm not openly a gay activist or anything, neither am I totally agreeable whole issue but I don't see what is wrong with making choices. As long as one is not forced to choose it, and they know they won't have regrets, whatever decision they make is entirely up to them. I'm sure most people didn't choose to 'become one'. It's not as if it's cool to be considered one. I mean, why would someone suddenly decide to 'become' gay, especially in Singapore, where the laws are so strict towards the minority?

I am just puzzled by why from most of the plays and films I've seen about homosexuals seems to promisicous. I mean, of course heterosexuals can be promisicous too, but it seems such an issue with the homosexuals. It's like, there's bound to be someone younger or better looking that will eventually cause a couple to break up. Are there no examples of happily ever after couples?

Gosh, I am threading on dangerous grounds now...'cos I don't think I've ever blogged about anything so ...different, aside from my whines about my daily life, in which no one else but me likes to reminisce upon.

Basically, I just think there's no definition to love, so anyone can be in love with just about anybody or anything in fact. Go catch AB3, and treat it as a sweet love story.

Complicated

Time: 7.35pm
Location: Office

SEE! I can bold my words...you know why? I've finally go figure out the blogging scripts... now I can do lotsa things...but I shall not show off. (What a loser I am, to only realise it now)

Met up with the girls from 3B last Friday, and it's so nice to see old friends. Though only a handful turned up, I wished we could've had more time together.

___

Had a conversation with someone today, and it's weird that someone actually asked when was my last relationship. In fact, I'm surprised by my own reply. I said "Well, I've never been in an exclusive relationship before."

I wonder how people perceive that. He thought I meant I tend to be in several relationships at one time, or just having fun dating..etc (whatever...) But the truth is, I've been out on dates and stuffs, but I don't recall ever being with anyone on a proper basis. Meaning that person is someone whom I've proudly acknowledged as my 'significant other'. I've been on like a few dates with the same person, but it's very casual, almost like friends hanging out, so technically, I was (HORROR!) never attached before!

I think I might have mentioned this before in my earlier posts, but I guess I'm too lazy to recall/ or search for it. It's weird, 'cos I think I am so complicated, and I have issues. Issues with the typical local male, issues with the over-rated, nice but super naive foreigners... gosh, I think it's just issues with men!

The great Englishman fell for a China girl (whom I hope ends up like that character in Little Britain, then I'll laugh...bleh!) and the nice local boy who ends up... a boy. Yes, a grown man in his 20s who's still a boy. A 16 yr old one to be exact. The few guys that ever dropped the slightest hint that they might like me, or even if they say they do like me, I panic and run. 'Cos they're not the ones I've been searching for, and I don't like wasting other people's time, or simply put - leading them on. I've yet to meet a guy that I truly like, and can overlook all the flaws and accept him for who he is and vice versa.

I don't consider myself an easy person to get along. I'm think I'm sacarstic at times, but often in a light-hearted way. I'm quite the perfectionist and I challenge myself to tackle as many things as possible. But now fast approaching late twenties, I'm starting to fret. I've never experienced true love!?

When you can overlook the flaws, accept the imperfections and understanding the weaknesses, that's when you are in love.

And I've never had that feeling before.
